Refashion T-Shirt Competition (Due 3-1-08)

Well its not quite a t-shirt DESIGN competition that we are used to but it is quite interesting. There is a 2008 eco-fashion design contest going on right now called “Green T”. This SewGreen project is “focusing on the cotton T-shirt as a symbol of the problems with the conventional apparel industry. The goals of the contest are to reduce purchases of conventional cotton Ts, buying organic, not treating T-shirts as throw-away items and putting old ones to use in creative new ways.”

Those who participate are supposed to reuse cotton (and denim or other fabrics) for a creative and unique t-shirt. All ages and skill levels are welcome.

The winner will receive $200 and invited to participate in refashion shows and exhibits. The deadline for the contest is March 1, 2008.
