Red Cross T-Shirt Design Competition – Give Blood! ($1000)
Every two seconds someone in the United States needs blood. Blood is needed for emergencies and for people who have cancer, blood disorders, sickle cell anemia and other illnesses. Last year, some 4 million people gave blood—the gift of life—through the Red Cross. And the Red Cross needs more blood and with your help, you can get people do remember to donate blood with a t-shirt design.

The Red Cross recently launched a nationwide design contest for the 2008-2009 blood donor t-shirt for youth and young adults. We’ll be screening the design on an estimated 600,000 t-shirts and offering $1000 to the winning designer. All donors on high school and college campuses will receive the t-shirt as a gift for donating. Submissions will be judged on content, creativity, and design quality. The winners will be chosen by a a panel of Red Cross youth volunteers and blood donors. Winners will be notified Friday April and the t-shirts will be distributed August 2008 to June 2009.
The goal of the design is to get other people inspired to donate blood. You can do anything you want for the design but you are not able to use the American Red Cross name or logo in the design.
