Bountee Color Competition (Win $500 +Prizes – Ends 1/1/2008)
Bountee is having another t-shirt design competition to highlight changes they have made to their site that better feature colors of designs and t-shirts. Designers have the chance to win $500, a copy of LineForm for Mac OSX and 5 shirts. The contest is to design a t-shirt that best highlights the new color features at Bountee. After you create your winning design upload it on Bountee and tag it as COLORCOMP. Judges for the competition include folks from Drawn.ca, ColourLovers.com, Freeverse.com. Format Magazine & One Anthem T-Shirt Design Contest ($300+ royalties – Ends December 4, 2007)
Format Magazine and One Anthem are holding a t-shirt design competition with prizes of gift certificates and royalties. There is no theme which is not a good sign. As we have mentioned before, contests without a strong theme or clear direction can be a waste of time.
Winners will have their t-shirt printed by OneAnthem and receive 30% of the profits from the sale of your design on t-shirts. The winner will also receive $300 gift certificate at OneAnthem.com and a free t-shirt with their design. Second place design will receive $100 gift certificate and third place will receive $25 gift certificate.
Final winners will be chosen by a combination of votes by Format users and the Anthem’s creative department based on originality, concept, general aesthetics, and typography.

A-Kon 19 Anime T-Shirt Design Competition (Prize: travel) Ends: 4/1/08
To get ready for the A-Con 19, a conference dedicated to Japanese anime, they are holding a t-shirt design competition. The theme of the contest is Magic , but the folks holding the contest wanted to make sure everyone is on the same page about the type of magic. It should me just magic like magical things and things of magical nature and NOT Harry Potter or magical girls or magic show. It can include shows like Read or Die, Full Metal Alchemist, DBZ, Yu-Gi-Oh. The goal of the project is to get art that can “effectively portray the image of A-Kon and get people interested in attending the conference”.The deadline of the contest is April 1, 2008 (Yea they plan early!!). So what do you get if you win? You win two 3 day passes to the A-Con, 2 hotel room nights, free t-shirts and public exposure.

Annual Threadless “Bestee” Awards 2007 – Over $100,000 in Prizes
Threadless pre-announced they will start handing out annual awards for things like “Most Groundbreaking Design” to “Best Gallery Photo” to “Most Dedicated Blogger” that really shined over the year. There will be 10-20 different categories and winners will share $100,000 in CASH. Yes CASH. The 2007 winners will be announced in Jan or Feb of 2008. It is great to see that the categories are more than just t-shirts, folks can win if they did other things that still contributed to the community. So cross your fingers because it might be you holding a wad of cash and a blue elephant in the next couple months.

Personally I like the phrase for Halloween but I am not a big fan of the font. It really doesn’t fit a very big audience and the green and purple don’t work for me. I would love to see it have more of a Halloween edge to it and maybe a little scarier. Anyway, congrats to the winner and I hope it sells a lot so Choiceshirts can make a sizable donation to the American Cancer Society.
